Musicians Go Green

These days it seems everyone wants to be a little greener. Our favourite musicians are no exception, with plenty of the industry’s hottest stars supporting environmentally friendly events.
Next Saturday it’s Earth Hour, where folks all around the country will turn their lights out for an hour from 8 pm. The initiative looks to raise awareness […]

Sorry Shannon Regrets Drunken Show

Shannon Noll’s been left red-faced after he drunkenly slurred his way through the headlining spot on the CMC Rocks The Snowys festival last weekend.
According to The Daily Telegraph, many people booed the Australian Idol runner-up, while others left before his set was over.
“It was so appallingly bad it wasn’t funny,” one punter told the tabloid. […]

Gyroscope Debut at Number One

When I interviewed Gyroscope’s Zoran Trivic last month about their new album Breed Obsession he said “We have a feeling that this could possibly be the most important record of our music careers.” That prediction’s turned out to be true with the album grabbing the top spot in its first week on the ARIA album […]

Australian Idol Seeks Expats

Apparently Australian Idol producers consider American Idol contestant Michael Johns the one that got away. But they’re determined not to let it happen again, by expanding the talent search to America and the UK this year.
According to The Sunday Telegraph, this year the Aussie reality TV show will audition expats in Los Angeles and London.
“I’ll […]

World Domination for Operator Please

Those kids from Operator Please are going to rack up the Frequent Flyer points this year. Right now they’re wowing Germany with shows all around the country, but they’ll be back here in April for an Aussie tour.
But they’ll barely have time to unpack their suitcases before they’ll fly back to Europe again, with stopovers […]

Whitesnake Touring Australia … Really?

I can’t believe I didn’t hear this news until now, but apparently Whitesnake are touring around the country in a couple of weeks time. Back in the 80s these guys were packing out stadiums, but now we’re lucky enough to see them in some Australia’s most intimate venues.
It’s hard to top tracks like “Is This […]

New Album and Tour for Chasing Gravity

Brisbane indie rockers Chasing Gravity have been creating serious buzz thanks to their catchy melodies and topical songs.
They haven’t seeped into the mainstream consciousness just yet, but it’s only a matter of time. These guys have built a huge live following, packing out venues around the country and making an impact on the American touring […]

One of my favourite Australian Idol graduates is going to be a daddy! Bobby Flynn let the exciting news slip in an interview with ABC entertainment blog The Shallow End.
“I’m going to be a father this year … it’s halfway now,” he said. “I haven’t […]
