The pair split last year, but have recently begun to date again. They will spend most of Pink’s 14-week Funhouse tour of Australia together, with Carey performing with the Crusty Demons in the same cities Pink’s tour travels.

“It took us seven years to work it out,” Pink told The Daily Telegraph. “We got married and I went on the road for two years. That’s about as long as we were married. It’s definitely hard.”

Now older and wiser, they’re doing everything they can to avoid the loving over long distance.

“We’re better people now,” Pink said. “There’s something about me and Carey. Our lives don’t make sense unless we have each other to piss off. It’s kinda perfect.”

The singer is also enjoying the freedom offered by time spent in Australia.

“I can walk to a cinema and go to a bar and not be bothered and I love that,” she said. “I’m not lauded as this pretentious, contrived superstar here.”

Pink plays Newcastle tomorrow night.
