Introducing … Stan Walker Cover Art!

November 28, 2009 by lkatulka

The cover art for Stan Walker’s debut album, Introducing … Stan Walker, has been revealed. I really like it! There’s definitely a vintage vibe to it. It seems Sony are trying to style Stan along the lines of classic soul stars like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. Only time will tell whether that approach buys him the cred he needs to survive in a post-Idol world, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed. That kid has so much raw talent, something tells me we still haven’t seen anywhere near his best.

Introducing … Stan Walker hits stores on December 11.

I wish Sony would STOP trying to style people or pidgeonhole them into a category. They are killing off some of Australia’s best talent by doing that.

Leave them alone to be who they are and what they are comfortable with.

I like the cover art by the way.

They have dropped Dean Geyer, as he was constantly being pushed into a role he was not comfortable with, nor was him & was against his (Christian) beliefs.

They are killing Damien Leith at the moment. He has the best album out by far by Sony won’t give him the publicity that is vital.
They want him to be a covers artist. Yes, he is good at that too, but his own music is world standard. Give him a go and a listen.
    Stop the prejudice.

The album took all the magic away from Stans aus idol performances. The album appeared to be rushed and the production was poor. For example i loved the audition where Stan Played the acoustic cover of ordinary people. Then comes the album where they speed up the tempo and Stans true talent doesn’t shine on through as it did at the auditions. He stripped it back and layed it out and poured his heart into the audition, which was not evident on this album. I hope they don’t do that with his up coming album
