Joe Jackson’s Stepping Out In Oz
I’m showing my age here, but I’m pretty psyched to read Joe Jackson’s coming back to Australia in May.
Joe will play a string of dates at lovely intimate venues to support the release of his latest album Rain.
If you’re a fan of his early work I wouldn’t stress. When Joe played here in 2003 he played a lot of early material, so I’m sure songs like “Is She Really Going Out With Him?” “Real Men,” and “Stepping Out” will all get a run.

Awesome stuff Paul - I’m so thrilled he’s making the trip out west for you too as so many artists forget to travel that far.

I believe that there as been a dramatic improvement in bands adding Perth into their tour schedule even in the short time that i have been here. Maybe this could be down to the massive influx of migrants and that bands now think that they now have the larger fan base to justify Perth being part of the tour. Whatever the reason it can only be good news for music lovers like myself and i`m looking forward to this leg of Joe`s tour so much. PS Also going to see Maroon 5 in march and even though i`m 47 i appreciate the new bands as much as the bands of yesteryear.

Oh there has Paul … I guess people are realising that Perth really appreciates live music, and they will sell out concerts many times over making it worth the extra trip.
And good on you keeping up with all the music coming out. I like to think I’ll keep on doing the same thing as I get older. At the end of the day, every decade’s going to have its good music, so I don’t understand those people who shut themselves off and just listen to the “golden oldies.” They only do a disservice to themselves.
