Krista Polvere Turns Heads
Expect big things from Adelaide singer/songwriter Krista Polvere. Who, I hear you ask?
If you were lucky enough to catch their recent tour, you may have seen Krista supporting Ryan Adams and the Cardinals around the country. But you might not know this local lass has spent the last eight months impressing industry bigwigs in New York City.
The backdrop of this thriving city gave Krista the inspiration to write and independently record her debut album, Here Be Dragons. Obviously Ryan Adams is a big fan of Krista’s work. He co-wrote many of the album’s tracks, and played on several.
The album’s star connections don’t stop there. The album was produced by Grammy Award winner Malcolm Burn, who’s worked with Emmylou Harris, Rachel Yamagata, and Bob Dylan to name a few.
Here Be Dragons will be released in Australia early in 2008. Krista’s currently negotiating with labels in the US and UK for a release there. American fans can hear a sneak peek of the album when she supports Ray LaMontagne on his US tour early next year.

Krista has a amazingly wonderful voice to listen to. The lyrics to her songs are so meaningful and smart.
I saw/discovered her when she supported Ryan Adams in Brisbane. Despite how rude the crowd was she still sang beautifully and it was a great set.
I seriously hope to see her hit the big time, because she certainly deserves it.

Such a shame to hear the Brisbane crowd didn’t give her a chance Annika. I’ve seen that happen all too often at gigs … crowds might actually find someone else they liked if they stopped to listen! Glad you enjoyed her stuff though!
