Thanks to our own king of swing, David Campbell, crooners are hot in Australia. If you love the sounds of this by-gone era, then take a look at the retro stylings of Crooner Culture.

“Crooner Culture is about the swinging swagger and sexy hip of the era of
crooners,” says its creator, Lara Kulpa. “Think fedoras, martinis, tuxedo suits, fully sequined gowns, and old silver microphones.”

Lara’s been a fan of the crooners for many years. This 30-year-old is convinced she “was born about 50 years too late!”

While the classic crooners have all but left us, there’s a whole new generation of soulful singers reinventing the genre. Lara talks about the new breed, and the original masters, while finding time to share martini recipes and retro fashion tips!

“Music takes you places without changing your physical location,” said Lara. “I want to bring people back to the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s, when life was all about having a good time and looking good while doing it.”
