Music Blog Spotlight: She Plays Music
Amy Winehouse’s drug battles are overshadowing her music, Britney’s lost the kids, and even Meg White’s apparently made a sex tape. It sometimes makes you wonder whether there are any positive female role models left in music.
Well wonder no more, and point your browser to She Plays Music. Billed as “a positive perspective of women in music,” this inspiring blog is a skank and bimbo-free zone! What you’ll find instead is news on some of the music world’s most powerful female voices. Think industry stalwarts like Melissa Etheridge, Suzi Quatro, Aretha Franklin, and new girls on the block Natasha Bedingfield and Joss Stone.

Thanks for the link love, I’m trying to feature a great mix of old and new, without having everything about Britney Spears or Amy Winehouse. Rockers CAN be role models.

And what’s more, they SHOULD be role models. I think it’s especially important for girls, what with all of the focus on body image and such, to have some really strong female voices to look up to. You’re doing a great job on your blog, so hopefully I can send some traffic your way!
