The Veronicas Glittering Birthday Bash
December 30, 2008 by lkatulka

Aussie pop twins The Veronicas celebrated their recent 24th birthdays with a massive party at the Sydney Hilton Marble Bar last night. 100 of their closest friends joined the girls for the “rock and roll glitter” birthday bash.
Lisa Origliasso told The Daily Telegraph she hoped for a “new camera,” while her sister Jess aimed a little higher, wishing for “world peace.”
The guest list included Jess’ main squeeze Daniel “Azaria” Byrne and her gal pal Ruby Rose, and the new man in Lisa’s life, American singer and actor Reeve Carney.
The girls were born on Christmas Day, but American promotional commitments kept the girls far from their native Australia on the big day. It sounds like last night’s party helped to make up for it though!

The Veronicas Get a Reality Show
September 11, 2008 by lkatulka
Broken engagements, missing boyfriends, a little girl on girl action … with all the scandal following The Veronicas these days it’s little wonder that American producers have given Australia’s most famous twins their own reality TV show!
But Jess and Lisa Origliasso aren’t phased by cameras following their every move.
“We document everything we do anyway,” Jess told The Daily Telegraph. “We often have camera crews on us on tour. It’s just about lives.”
It seems like every man and his dog has a reality TV series these days, but the show could be a major vehicle for promoting the dynamic duo overseas. And with so many rumours surrounding the girls, it could help set the record straight!
The Veronicas reality TV show is likely to air on American youth network MTV.

Lisa Origliasso and Dean Geyer Call it Quits
July 25, 2008 by lkatulka
Say it isn’t so! My favourite musical lovebirds Lisa Origliasso and Dean Geyer have split up!
Sadly this isn’t a case of the rumor mill dishing up half truths. The celebrity glamour couple, who became engaged in April, issued a statement to confirm the news. It reads:
“Our careers demand we be in different parts of the world now and in the future, and the pressures associated with this have forced us to make this very difficult decision. We remain committed and caring friends, with love, admiration and support for one another. We would appreciate respect for our privacy at this time.”
They seemed so happy together. Sad news indeed!

It’s no secret that devout Christian Dean Geyer has been saving himself until marriage. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one thinking about what he’ll get up to on the night of his wedding to Veronicas’ hottie Lisa Origliasso!
But Lisa insists she’s not getting married just to get busy!
“We’re not rushing down the aisle - once people find out that we’re not getting married next week, just so whatever we want to happen can happen, they’ll realise we’re happy with this stage,” she told OK! magazine.
“It wasn’t a big deal for me [to wait], I love him for him.”
Awww that’s so sweet!

I can almost hear the hearts of teenage girls around the country breaking. Dean Geyer has announced his engagement to one half of the Veronicas, Lisa Origliasso. The pair released a joint statement today.
“Dean Geyer and Lisa Origliasso, together with their families, are delighted to announce they are engaged,” the statement said.
“The couple have been together since April 2007 and are thrilled to share their news.”
The pair met at the 2006 ARIA Awards and have been inseparable ever since. They are just so cute together - this is great news! Congratulations to them!
The Veronicas’ New Album Hooks Australia
November 6, 2007 by lkatulka
Their latest single has us hooked, and the album of the same name is just as catchy. The Veronicas’ second album, Hook Me Up, was released on Saturday and it shows a new side of Australia’s favourite twins.
“It’s been over two years since we wrote the first record so I guess our musical tastes have changed a little bit,” Lisa Origliasso said in a press release.
It seems the fans don’t mind a bit. The first single reached number 4 on the charts and achieved gold status.
The Veronicas wrote the album with the best in the business, including folks who write for Christina Aguilera, Mika, Good Charlotte, and Madonna. But they forged a special partnership with Toby Gad, the man behind Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” He helped to write eight of the album’s 12 tracks, including the emotional “This is How it Feels” and dance-floor anthem “Popular.”
“With Toby, we’d gossip with him and tell him all the drama in our lives,” explained Lisa.
“That’s why a lot of those songs come across as emotional and intense,” added Jess.
The twins will play songs from their latest release and their smash hit debut when they tour the country later this month. Their national tour starts in Perth on November 30, before visiting Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.

Kids Count At Nick Awards
October 11, 2007 by lkatulka
Local and international musicians were honoured by their youngest fans at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Sydney last night.
As I suspected yesterday, Zac Efron did take home two orange blimps. He was awarded the best movie star gong, and his movie High School Musical 2 was named “so hot right now.”
Pink was named the best international singer, Good Charlotte declared the best international band, and Fall Out Boy’s smash “Thx Fr Th Mmrs” won best song.
On the local front, Zac Efron’s co-hosts The Veronicas took home the “fave band” title. Lisa Origliasso’s main squeeze Dean Geyer was named “fave hottie.”

The Veronicas are coming home for Christmas to perform some massive shows around the country! The Origliasso twins, now based in America, have not played in Australia since last year’s Coke Live arena tour.
The Hook Me Up tour will showcase the sisters’ new electro-pop sound, a dramatic departure from their original rock-pop harmonies.
The tour will be The Veronicas biggest headlining tour of Australia. It will kick off in Perth on November 30, before heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The Veronicas new album, Hook Me Up, is released in November 3, so there’s plenty of time to learn all the words before these shows!
Tickets are on sale on Friday October 5.
Aussie Idol Takes Out Top Teen Honours
September 6, 2007 by lkatulka
Australian Idol graduates proved they’re tops with teens, taking out several major awards at last night’s Dolly Teen Choice Awards in Sydney.
Dean Geyer was named hottest music act, a title that may have as much to do with his looks as his talent. Last year’s third-place getter was thrilled to attend the awards show with his lady love, Lisa Origliasso of The Veronicas.
“This is the first awards night we’ve been to as a couple - it’s awesome,” he told The Daily Telegraph.
Guy Sebastian’s Close to The Sun was named most popular album, and Anthony Callea’s “Addicted To You” was the most downloaded ringtone. No, I can’t believe there’s an award for that either.
The Veronicas Prepare to be Slimed
Australia’s powerhouse pop duo, The Veronicas, will host the country’s most lighthearted awards show, the 2007 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
But don’t expect the pretty pair to don expensive designer clothes. They know they’re likely to leave the event dripping in green slime.
“I think it’s kind of a given as hosts that we’ll get slimed so we can prepare ourselves for that,” Jess Origliasso told AAP. “I think we get to slime other people as well so that makes up for it.”
Jess is also relishing the opportunity to attend the ceremony for the first time. While The Veronicas took out three awards last year, they were unable to attend due to recording and touring commitments.
“We were really bummed we couldn’t make it, so it’s great to be able to host this year,” she added.
The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards hits the Sydney Entertainment Centre on October 10.
