Tom Williams Leaves Australian Idol

Teen heart-throb Tom Williams‘ winning run on Australian Idol came to an end tonight. The 16-year-old cutie pie found himself in the bottom three with Teale Jakubenko and Madam Parker.

Teale had a really solid night, and Madam Parker simply suffered from poor song choice. Tom on the other hand hasn’t had a good week yet. It looks like the audience agreed because he got the vote. I’d like to think my vote for Teale contributed in some small way.

Next week the Idols will grab their platforms and flares for Abba night. Those restrictive themes are always a bit scary, but I think these guys have the skills to pull out some surprisingly wonderful performances. We’ll see!

I think that Tom Williams leaving is very unfair because he can sing way better than Sophie (no offence) and if he could have stayed in this week at least, it could have done alot for him. He will still make an awesome career for himself so i am not really worried.

I guess at the end of the day Kait Idol’s a lot more than simply a singing contest. Personally I think Sophie’s a much stronger performer than Tom who just sort of stands there. But that’s just me.

I’m not sure I agree with you that staying in was helping him. I actually felt sorry for the kid because so many people were telling him he was out of this league. He is talented, but I really think he’s going to do better walking away and learning more about the music biz away from the glare of the public, you know?

im pretttty shrue the show was rigged.
tom had a bigger fanbase than teale and madam put together.
tom is amazzzing.
and we will be seeing more of him in the future
and i agreee
he was WAYYY better than sophie.
i love tom so much

I don’t know Mrs Williams … from what I read on the Idol forums while there were a lot of Tom fans, there were also a lot of people who wanted to see him gone. Those people I believe voted for someone else, anyone else, just to see Tom go.

These things are all audited by official bodies so I think we can throw out the conspiracy theories.

I watched the Idol Abba show last night and it was cringe-making. Whoever decided that this was a good idea should have their head examined. The performances were absolutely embarrassing. One lesson should come from it though; almost no one can successfully sing Abba - except Abba.

Horses for courses Perta. I actually thought it was really good! But I’m not an ABBA fan, so perhaps my being a bit removed from the music worked in my favour. Anyway, hopefully next week will be more to your taste!
